Marketing to Foreclosure Clients Imperative for Realtors

 

In August the number of foreclosures from June to July surged 93% over the same period in 2006. With forecasts of the numbers of foreclosures rising in 2008 now is the time for Realtors to seek training on working with distressed homeowners.

 

Florida is a prime market, being one of the five states that accounted for more than half of the nation’s total foreclosure filings. With the Senate still unable to agree on a final offer for property tax cuts and adjustable rate mortgages ripening too many homeowners are falling behind on their mortgage payments. Even with a house listed for sale homeowners are bogged down by a depressed market, unable to get offers, only leaving them to become more in entangled in debt.

 

Realtors in the current market need to understand the pitfalls that are many times overlooked when working with foreclosure clients. Understanding the liability that can come with foreclosure sales cannot be overlooked. Our training program and professional short sale processing services can help protect agents and brokers. Marketing to foreclosure clients are the best way to survive in this market. You can out perform other agents, if you concentrate on only marketing. Take the listings and move on. This is the best way to survive in this market.  If you have a good base of foreclosure listings eventually you could focus on the buyers. SPECIAL ADDENDUMS ARE REQUIRED?
Working with foreclosures is like working with dynamite. A home owner should have an Attorney involved to give the listing agent a special addendum for th MLS and to consult the home owner through the foreclosure legal process. Why are so many agents taking on the liability and illegal practice of law?
